Doggy Day Care

TERMS & CONDITIONS

DOG BOARDING AND DOGGY DAY CARE

At Tails Will Wag Dog Boarding, our goal is to provide an environment where dogs stay safe, secure, and as stress-free as possible. We want them to be excited and happy when they arrive at TWW for their next visit.

While we love every dog, unfortunately, not all dogs are suited to TWW. Based on our experience, dogs that bark excessively, are anxious, aggressive, suffer from separation anxiety, are intact, or do not cope well with strangers are often unsuitable for TWW. A dog's behaviour can change in a new environment, so we recommend a trial night before a long stay. This allows us to assess if your dog is a good fit for TWW and for you to evaluate if TWW facilities are suitable for your dog.

New customers are welcome to view the facility by appointment before boarding.

We have CCTV cameras on all rooms and in our exercise arena.

EXERCISE

We offer playtime groups throughout the day in our indoor/outdoor enclosed play arena. For dogs that prefer only human interaction, we provide one-on-one sessions and lead walking on our farm trail.

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW

It's important to be upfront about any special needs or issues your dog may have. When you are away, your dog might try to "find" you. Even the most experienced individuals can have dogs escape, so if your dog has any fears, is a climber, digger, or an "escape artist," please inform us in advance so we can take necessary precautions.

YOUR DOG’S FOOD

Since some dogs can't tolerate sudden changes in food brands, we ask that you provide your dog's food during their stay. Please pack the food in daily portions or include an appropriate-sized scoop if not pre-bagged.

WE RECOMMEND YOU BRING

A familiar scent from home, such as your dog’s bed and an old t-shirt or blanket.

Food and treats.

Collar or harness if your dog will be walked.

Boarding consent form and vaccination card, if not already submitted.

We supply feeding bowls and water bowls.

HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF YOUR DOG

Neutering and Behaviour

Neutering typically reduces aggression. Social problems can arise when another male detects an intact dog's high testosterone level, potentially leading to aggression in both dogs. An intact dog may also become a target for harassment by other male dogs. Our preference is for all dogs over 6 months to be neutered. If this is not possible, a trial stay can help to prevent such issues.

Dogs in Heat

We cannot accept dogs that are in heat or expected to come into heat.

Illness

If your dog becomes ill before boarding, it is crucial to inform us, as your pet may transmit the illness to other dogs. We may not be able to accommodate dogs that have been recently ill, as it can be unsafe for other guests.

Allergies

Dog allergies are increasingly common, with pollen, grass, bushes, and insect bites causing reactions. Symptoms include scratching, licking, chewing of feet and body, paw discoloration, red or watery eyes, ear infections, and runny nose. It is important to maintain flea and tick treatments. Most allergies can be easily remedied.

Vaccinations

The welfare of your dog and the other dogs in our care is vital. Therefore, please bring your dog’s current vaccination certificate. We will refuse entry to any dog without a valid vaccination certificate. All dogs must be vaccinated against kennel cough and have their annual vaccinations up to date. For vaccinations to be valid, they must be administered at least 21 days before arrival. We are happy to administer prescribed medication to dogs staying with us; please provide clear written instructions and a sufficient quantity of medicine for your dog's entire stay.

Responsibility and Liability

While all due and reasonable care is taken of your dog while at Tails Will Wag Dog Boarding, boarding is entirely your responsibility. In the event of vet bills or damage to TWW property, these additional costs will be added to your bill upon collection of your pet. If you have pet insurance, please inform us of the details.
